Inventory Management

Keep track of your pet supplies without the stress. CrittrHavens makes equipment tracking, stock monitoring, and warranty management feel effortless.

Managing your pet's gear shouldn't feel like homework. Whether you're tracking that expensive UVB bulb or making sure you never run out of cricket food, CrittrHavens has your back with smart features that keep everything organized.

Equipment Tracking

Your gear deserves better than a shoebox receipt collection. Track equipment with precision that actually helps.

Adding New Equipment

  1. Head to Inventory > Equipment and tap the Add Equipment button
  2. Fill in your equipment details—name and type are must-haves, everything else is your call
  3. Choose from categories like Heating, Lighting, Filtration, Humidity, Monitoring, or Other
  4. Add brand and model info to make reordering smooth later
  5. Set your purchase date and warranty expiration if you've got them handy
  6. Pick where you bought it from the source dropdown—includes options like Amazon, Chewy, PetSmart, Zoo Med, local pet stores, and many others

Your equipment gets its own card with all the key details front and center. Swipe for quick actions or tap to dive deeper.

Warranty & Brand Tracking

Never lose track of warranty dates again. Set the expiration date when you add equipment and CrittrHavens keeps it visible on your equipment cards. Perfect for those expensive heat lamps and UVB bulbs that you definitely want to warranty swap before they die.

Brand and model tracking means you can reorder the exact same bulb or filter without playing guessing games six months later. Your future self will thank you.

Equipment-Habitat Connections

Link equipment to specific habitats so you know exactly what gear belongs where. When you're managing multiple tanks or enclosures, this keeps everything crystal clear. Navigate between equipment and habitats seamlessly—no more "wait, which tank has the broken heater?" moments.

Consumables Management

Stock tracking that actually prevents those "oh no, I'm out of food" emergencies.

Setting Up Stock Levels

  1. Go to Inventory > Consumables and tap Add Consumable
  2. Enter current stock and set your minimum quantity—this becomes your reorder trigger
  3. Choose units that make sense: count for individual items, grams for food, milliliters for supplements
  4. Pick the item type (Food, Supplement, Medication, Bedding, etc.) to keep things organized

The system monitors your stock levels and displays low stock alerts on the Consumables tab when items fall below your minimum thresholds.

Low Stock Alerts

See that badge on your Consumables tab? That's your early warning system. It shows exactly how many items are running low—not out, just getting close to your minimum levels. This gives you time to reorder before crisis mode hits.

Filter by stock status to see everything, just low stock items, or completely empty supplies. The color-coded badges make it easy to spot what needs attention.

Stock Adjustments

Life happens—you use supplies, restock, sometimes things expire. Track it all with stock adjustments that automatically log when and why quantities changed. Whether you're adding new inventory or recording daily feeding amounts, the history stays intact.

Inventory History & Logging

Every supply change gets tracked automatically. No more "when did I last change that filter?" guessing games.

The Inventory Logs section captures every stock adjustment, equipment addition, and maintenance note. Filter by activity type or search for specific items to find exactly what you need.

What Gets Logged

  • Stock adjustments (restocking, daily feeding, usage)
  • Equipment maintenance and observations
  • New item additions
  • Habitat associations and changes
  • Any custom notes you add

Each log entry includes timestamps, quantities, and context so you can track usage patterns and spot trends.

Finding Information Fast

Search logs by item name or use the filters to narrow down by activity type. Looking for when you last cleaned the filter? Or trying to figure out how much food your pets go through per week? It's all in the logs.

📋 Need Broader Care Tracking? Inventory logs integrate seamlessly with Care Central - your unified hub for managing all care activities across habitats, pets, and supplies.

Smart Features That Just Work

Quick Actions

Swipe left on any inventory item for instant access to common actions. Adjust stock, add observations, or reassign to different habitats without diving through menus.

Smart Filtering

Every inventory section includes filtering that adapts to your actual data. Filter equipment by type, brand, or associated habitat. Sort consumables by stock level or item category. Find exactly what you're looking for without scrolling through everything.

Cross-Reference Navigation

Tap equipment to see its habitat. The system connects everything so you can move between related items naturally.

Pro Tips for Inventory Success

Start Small: Add your most expensive or critical items first. UVB bulbs, heaters, and essential medications should be tracked before you worry about every single decoration.

Set Realistic Minimums: Your reorder point should give you enough runway to actually reorder. If shipping takes a week, don't set your minimum at zero.

Use the Search: Type partial names to find items fast. "UVB" will surface all your UV bulbs.

Link Everything: Connect equipment to habitats. The interconnections make management so much smoother.

Check the Logs: Regular log reviews help you spot usage patterns and optimize your stock levels over time.

Your inventory system works harder when you give it good data, but even basic tracking beats the chaos of lost receipts and forgotten warranties.
