Understanding Task Status

Visual cues tell you what needs attention.

Status Indicators

Tasks show their state clearly:

⏰ Due: Ready to complete (blue)
✅ Completed: Done for today (green)
⚠️ Overdue: Needs attention (red)
🔜 Upcoming: Not yet due (gray)
⏸️ Skipped: Intentionally passed (yellow)

Time-Based Organization

Tasks arrange by urgency:

Overdue Tasks: Top priority, red section
Due Now: Current time window
Due Today: Later today's tasks
Tomorrow Preview: Plan ahead section

Completing Tasks

Mark tasks done with satisfaction. Every completion builds your care history.

Quick Completion

For simple tasks:

Tap the checkbox next to any task
Task marks as complete instantly
Moves to completed section
Care log creates automatically

Batch Completion: Select multiple tasks and complete together. Perfect for morning routines.

Detailed Completion

For tasks needing notes:

Tap the task name (not checkbox)
Completion modal opens
Add your details:
- Notes: Observations or specifics
- Photo: Visual documentation
- Actual Time: If different from scheduled
- Consumables Used: Track amounts

Overdue Section

Red banner shows overdue tasks:

Most overdue appears first
Shows how late (2 hours, 1 day)
Quick complete still available
Bulk actions for multiple

Catching Up Strategies

Recent Overdue (same day):

Complete with actual time
Add note explaining delay
Mark done and move on

Yesterday's Tasks:

Tap to open detail view
Change completion time to yesterday
Add notes about the delay
Complete to maintain history

Multiple Days Overdue:

Evaluate if still relevant
Complete what was done
Skip what wasn't
Adjust future schedule if needed

Skipping Tasks

Sometimes tasks aren't needed:

Long-press the task
Select Skip This Instance
Add reason (optional)
Task grays out but stays in history

Valid Skip Reasons:

Pet didn't eat (snake in shed)
Vet advised pause
Traveling/away
Weather-related delays

Tap the Quick Task button (plus icon)
Fill in the essentials:
- Name: What needs doing
- Time: When to do it
- Category: Type of task
Optional additions:
- Link to Crittr: Specific pet
- Add Consumables: Track usage
- Set Priority: High/Normal/Low
